National Tequila Day couldn’t have picked a better time to roll around, landing right on the same week as Broccoli City Festival and FESTIVAL de TEQUILA. This weekend is all about linking up with our people, both old and new, to celebrate culture and good vibes. And you already know Tequila is going to be front and center in our celebrations.
On average, Black households drop about $168 a year on alcoholic drinks, which is about 0.5% of our total spending, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Expenditure Survey. And while it’s easy to reach for those well-known brands, let’s not forget the importance of showing love to our Black-owned tequila brands. Shockingly, less than 1% of alcohol brands are Black-owned, even though about 54% of Black adults enjoy a good drink.
Here are some dope Black-owned tequila brands you need to know about:
ForLife Tequila
Lobos 1707
Los Hermanos 1978
TCapri Tequila
Anteel Tequila
E.CUARENTA TEQUILA
Vascano Tequila
Gran Coramino Tequila
So, let’s toast to culture, community, and supporting Black-owned businesses this weekend! Cheers! 🍹✨
